Ok, so what’s a Hopdoddy and how do I get one?

Well, the answer is it’s a burger bar, and if you want to give it a try there is a brand new one in Playa Vista at 12746 W. Jefferson Blvd, #1120.  It is just to the left of the new Whole Foods Market.

One look after entering, you will see that you are waiting in line to order the goods, pick out your drink and sit down.   Very Chipotle-like, except you don’t need to instruct the staff as to how they make your food, just write it on the clipboard.

Immediately after ordering I liked this place, as the drink dispenser was a “Maine Root” and different than the normal faire.  Mexican Cola, Blueberry Soda, Vanilla Creme, Lemon Lime are some of the interesting choices, and the Mexican Cola flavor was great.

There was friendly staff to help pick out a great booth, and I sat for a bit looking out the VERY picturesque window to wait for my burger, and watch a little football.  The windows looking out on Playa Vista remind me of New York, and the overall environment, especially on a December evening was excellent.

There is a full bar area as well, and lots of televisions.   I would not say this is a “typical” sports bar though, as conversation is easy and the ambiance & lighting is softly done.

Well here comes the burger, complete with Jalapeños and onions.  Perfectly made, medium-well…, and with great flavor.  They even provided regular and spicy ketchup. Highly recommended, I will be back!
